Celebrate our CCUFSA community achievements. Learn about the Gord G. Manning Distinguished Service Award, the Award of Excellence, and the Shine Award for innovation. All award winners are chosen from a pool of nominees. The Albert Ng Magazine Awards recognizes excellence in published work in the CCUFSA Magazine. Join us in honouring those who have significantly contributed to our organization.

Gord G. Mann Distinguished Service Award

This award is the highest honour CCUFSA bestows.  Recipients are selected based on their contributions to the food services industry.

  • Past or present member of CCUFSA.

    • Contributions to CCUFSA – office(s) held, program and committee activities, leadership exhibited, regional/national activities

    • Years involved in college/university food services

    • Contributions to vocational and formal education programs

    • Contribution to allied food industries

    • Contribution for the advancement of college/university food services career development of personnel

    • Has received previous honours/awards for their work in college/university food services

  • The nomination can be sent to the president.

Award of Excellence

This award is presented to a deserving CCUFSA member based upon outstanding contribution to the association.

  • Any active CCUFSA member.

    • Minimum five years of membership in CCUFSA with some involvement at the national level

    • Educational support through presentation of workshops, programs, interest sessions

    • Contributions for the betterment of college/university food services

  • The nomination can be sent to the president.

Shine Award

This award acknowledges teams who demonstrate outstanding dining, hospitality service, and teamwork to reach a major accomplishment, enhance the food service business, or improve the quality of campus life. The team chosen will be an exemplar of those who go beyond their regular duties and responsibilities to meet the needs of the business or campus communities

  • Any team (the department as a whole or a specific group of people) with a CCUFSA institutional membership is eligible for this award.

  • A team may qualify for the Shine Award if one or more of the following criteria are met:

    • Exceeds the expectations of a customer by providing exceptional service.

    • Demonstrates creativity in assisting customers to best meet their needs.

    • Creating opportunities or guidelines for improving service.

    • Developing service plan improvements in support of the mission/vision of food services or the campus.

    • Achieving success through the adversity of a demanding dining event.

    • Maintaining a positive, progressive attitude in the midst of challenging situations.

    • A nomination package must be completed and submitted to the selection committee by the deadline below.

    • The selection committee, as appointed by the CCUFSA President, will determine the award recipient.

    • The selection committee will be chosen from institutions which do not have a nomination under consideration.

    • Awards will be presented at the chosen institute by a designated CCUFSA executive member as well as being acknowledged at the National Conference awards ceremony.

    • The awarded team will receive a plaque/framed certificate as well as a team gift (to be determined by the selection committee and nominator with a maximum value of $1,000).

    • A nomination package must be completed and submitted to the selection committee by the deadline below.

    • The selection committee, as appointed by the CCUFSA President, will determine the award recipient.

    • The selection committee will be chosen from institutions which do not have a nomination under consideration.
